Kim Eng Yeo
“Watercolors of the Seasons”
The Crowell Gallery is pleased to exhibit the work of local artist Kim Eng Yeo. She will be showing a selection of paintings of flowers, plants, fruits, landscapes done from life or derived from photo references and sketches.
“I am a realist painter who became an avid gardener. Inspiration comes mainly from my surrounds.
The process of drawing and painting is for me, one of visual discovery. Of each line, shape and color coalescing on the paper to form a whole. Giving the viewer a sense of that fleeting moment of heightened awareness.
Watercolor is a very versatile medium. Apart from it’s quick drying abilities it is well suited for sketching especially for working outdoors. That among it’s other qualities like layering, led me to choose it as my primary medium, over oils and acrylics.”
Kim studied art in Singapore and Thailand, and textile design at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She has exhibited her watercolors in NY and Vermont and internationally, in Bangkok, Thailand and Singapore. Her work is often on display at the Vermont Artisans Gallery in Brattleboro. Additional information can be found on her website www.kimengyeo.com
