CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Todd Lawley, Chair.
ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA
Carol asked to have follow up with VLCT EAP added to the agenda. There were no objections. The item was added to New Business
A motion was made by Mike Fitzpatrick to enter into Executive Session to discuss possible sale and purchase relating to a new Town Office. The motion was seconded by Carol Hatcher. The motion carried and the Board entered into Executive Session at 5:34 p.m.
There were no decisions made as a result of the Executive Session.
April 11, 2016: The minutes were reviewed. Marion Dowling noted that it stated Tim Shafer seconded the motion regarding Planning Commission appointments. It should have said Mike Fitzpatrick. A motion was made by Marion Dowling and seconded by Mike Fitzpatrick to approve the minutes as amended. The motion carried unanimously.
Shannon will add roadside painting to the next agenda.
Todd noted the roads are getting better and grading is being done. Ditch lines will be worked on soon.
UNSCHEDULED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC:
EAP: Carol noted that as requested, she called EAP. She spoke with two people. Carol requested tabling discussion until Shannon returns from vacation, however noted that there is a sequence of actions that the Board can take. This will be on the agenda for the next meeting.
Conflict of Interest Policy: Discussion was tabled until the next meeting.
Selectboard Rules of Procedure: Discussion was tabled until the next meeting.
Animal Complaint: Mike Young’s report regarding a March 12 violation was reviewed. The Board discussed the appropriate fines for the March 12 violations. The motion was made by Mike Fitzpatrick and seconded by Marion Dowling to approve the fines, 3 dogs at $50.00 each, and 6 dogs at $25.00 each, for a total of $300.00. The motion carried unanimously. It was noted that there have been no further complaints.
Junk Ordinance Complaint: Carol, Marion, Mike and Todd all rode by the property. Todd and Mike had no concerns. Marion noted that several tires could be moved, as well as a few other items. It was Carol’s opinion that it doesn’t qualify for a junk ordinance violation, but could be a neighborly gesture. Todd will talk to the Road Commissioner.
The following correspondence was received:
- John Leckerling, Hunter Brook Road – requesting removal of tires left on his property. Discussion ensued. Todd will go up and look at the tires and report back to the Board.
- Morris Ale Dancers – request for road closure for dance. A motion was made by Mike Fitzpatrick and seconded by Marion Dowling to approve the request. The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Marion Dowling and seconded by Mike Fitzpatrick to adjourn at 6:54 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
