Green Up Day Celebration 2018

West River Valley community members are cordially invited to the “GREEN UP DAY CELEBRATION” to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Townshend Commons starting at 12 noon – 3 pm. In case of foul weather the event will be held at the Townshend Town Hall.

Green Up Day Celebration 2018

The event is a co-sponsored community celebration for the West River Valley communities of Newfane, Brookline, Townshend, Wardsboro and Jamaica.

The Valley Lions, West River Valley Thrives and Community Hope & Action will be co-sponsoring this event to celebrate the greening of our community for Green Up Day. Our groups would like to encourage our community members to continue the “green up” event throughout the year!

There will be live music and a pig roast prepared by Jim Westbrook of CherryRail Farm donated by Creatin’ Business Small Business Consulting, along with vegetarian option. We ask the attendees to bring a potluck of side dishes & desserts, as well as a chair. All other items will be provided.

Community groups and businesses who serve the West River Valley are also invited to provide a table top display of how they are helping to “green up” our valley, too!

A life size walking and talking lion will be at the event, along with face painting for the kids.
