Planning Commission Meeting Minutes: Tuesday, April 24, 2018

COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: ​Lynn Forest, Angela Sanborn (till 6:30), Bob McCandless, Marcia Hylan.

OTHERS PRESENT: ​John Bennett from WRC

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:10pm by Lynn Forrest, chair.

ADDITIONS/AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA:​ Municipal Consultation with John Bennett from the WRC.

MINUTES: ​March 27, and April 10, 2018 minutes were rolled over as not all members from those meetings were present.

UNSCHEDULED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: ​John Bennett from the WRC for Municipal Consultation and discussion re: maps and other items to be included in the Town Plan.

NEW BUSINESS: ​No new business.

OLD BUSINESS:
Newfane Town Plan re-adoption:
Angela Sanborn made a motion to adjust the timeline for the mailing, posting and hearing of the re-adopted town plan. Bob McCandless seconded. The committee voted unanimously in favor by voice vote.

John Bennett suggested putting the amendment for the Village Designation adoption in the Economic section in the town plan. Lynn Forrest will send him a copy of the wording for that amendment.

Committee made some corrections to the Economic Development and Transportation sections.

Bob McCandless made a motion for the WRC to work with the Newfane PC for Acts 171 and 174. Marcia Hylan seconded. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.

The Committee will be getting maps from the WRC by Friday. The Village Center Designations will be added and an updated flood hazard area map will be included. Any other changes will be included in the finished town plan next spring.

The flood resilience plan will be added to the Natural Resources Section after April 27, 2018.

Getting the plan mailed
The Committee discussed dates and times for preparing to send the Town Plan to neighboring towns, WRC, and Community and Housing. Agreed that Lynn, Bob and Marcia will meet at Lynn Forrest residence on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 5pm and Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10am.

Bob McCandless motioned to adjourn at 9:30pm, Marcia Hylan seconded. The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
