Newfane Selectboard Emergency Minutes – January 11, 2011
NEWFANE SELECTBOARD
EMERGENCY MEETING
JANUARY 11, 2011

Present: Gary Katz, Frank Suponski, Dennis Wiswall, Todd Lawley
Also Present: Shannon Meckle

The Emergency Meeting was called to order at 11:05 a.m. by Gary Katz, Chair.
The purpose of the meeting, Gary stated, was that the Board had received the resignation of Ken Meckle, effective immediately, the emergency nature being that there is a large storm coming tomorrow.

Gary noted that he’d talked with Todd earlier that morning and that he’d indicated that Jay Wilson would be available to cover until the end of winter.
The wage for Jay will be $14.85.

Todd noted that he wanted it on record that he is very sorry to see Kenny go, and that he was always a good worker.
A motion was made by Dennis Wiswall and seconded by Frank Suponski to hire Jay Wilson until the end of winter for $ 14.85 per hour. The motion carried with 3 in favor and Todd Lawley abstaining.

Todd noted that Kevin Shrader can also fill in as needed, if someone is sick.

A motion was made by Dennis Wiswall and seconded by Frank Suponski to hire Kevin Shrader on an as-needed basis at $14.85 per hour. The motion carried with three in favor and Todd Lawley abstaining.

Dennis noted that he’d always heard positive things about Ken and that he wished him luck in his endeavor.
A motion was made by Todd Lawley and seconded by Dennis Wiswall to adjourn at 11:12 a.m. The motion carried unanimously.
