TOWN OF NEWFANE SELECTBOARD

WORK SESSION MINUTES

MONDAY,  MARCH 5, 2018

 

 

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Marion Dowling, Gary Delius, Mike Fitzpatrick, Shelly Huber, Christopher Williams

OTHERS PRESENT: Shannon Meckle

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Marion Dowling, Chair.

ADDITIONS/AMENDMENTS TO AGENDA

Shannon noted that there were two Job Descriptions remaining that were not signed by the Board and would like them to be approved and signed.

A motion was made by Gary Delius to add the Part Time Road Crew Job Description and the Road Commissioner Job Description to the agenda.  The motion was seconded by Shelly Huber.  Discussion ensued regarding public input.  Shannon noted that one had no changes from the one discussed previously, but was signed specific to a certain employee. The other Job Description had never been signed.  Shannon will note these actions in her Administrative Assistant’s Report at the next regular meeting in order to keep the public informed.  The motion carried unanimously.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

 

After review, a motion was made by Gary Delius and seconded by Mike Fitzpatrick to approve the Road Commissioner’s Job Description. The motion carried with four in favor and Christopher Williams abstaining.

 

After review, a motion was made by Gary Delius and seconded by Mike Fitzpatrick to approve the Part-Time Highway Crew Job Description. The motion carried unanimously.

 

WORK SESSION               

 

Marion reported that she received a phone call from Todd Lawley expressing his appreciation for the Town Report dedication.

 

The Board reviewed the General Fund Budget and the Capital Budget, along with the Warning for Town Meeting.

 

PROPOSED SALE OF LAND

 

Shannon read the Intent to Sell Municipal Land to the Board. A motion was made by Gary Delius to sign the Intent to Sell Municipal Land.  The motion was seconded by Christopher Williams. The motion carried unanimously.

 

Shannon explained the posting process and noted that sale could happen after 30 days from the day of the newspaper posting.

A motion was made by  Gary Delius and seconded by Mike Fitzpatrick to adjourn at 7:05 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
