TOWN OF NEWFANE
SPECIAL SELECTBOARD MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JUNE 26, 2018
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Marion Dowling, Gary Delius, Mike Fitzpatrick, Christopher Williams, Shelly Huber
OTHERS PRESENT: Jay Wilson, Shannon Meckle
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Marion Dowling, Chair.
Jay Wilson noted that Springfield Paving was the low bidder and recommended awarding the bid to Springfield Paving for paving at $66.48 price per ton in place and milling at $1.20 per square yard.
A motion to award the bid to Springfield Paving was made by Gary Delius and seconded by Mike Fitzpatrick. The motion carried unanimously.
Christopher Williams noted that when the parking lot at the Town Garage was paved last time, it wasn’t graded properly by the bay doors and the water sits and rots the doors out. If the town digs out the existing paving and re-grades it, Springfield Paving has offered to repave it for $3,000.00. There is money in the Town Garage Maintenance budget.
A motion was made by Mike Fitzpatrick and seconded by Shelly Huber to re-grade the parking lot by the bay doors and have it repaved by Springfield Paving for $3,000.00. The motion carried unanimously.
ENGINEERING – BOX CULVERT ON DEPOT ROAD
Jay noted that the hydraulic study came in. Because Federal dollars are being used, the Board needs to send out a bid for the engineering of the box culvert.
A motion was made by Gary Delius and seconded by Christopher Williams to develop specifications for an engineering firm to design the box culvert on Depot Road.
Discussion: Mike Fitzpatrick recommended sending a bid to Ron Bell.
The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Gary Delius and seconded by Christopher Williams to adjourn at 4:28 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
