CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:01pm by Ken Estey.
ADDITIONS/AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA
There were no additions or amendments to the agenda.
Commission reviewed minutes of 4/8/21 regular meeting. A motion was made by Lynn and seconded by Jane to approve the meeting minutes of 4/8/21. The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
UNSCHEDULED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC
Town Plan & Funding Discussion:
Ann Golob gave report to the Commission on the 4/19/21 Newfane Selectboard meeting. Ann expressed her support for the Planning Commission and the Selectboard to work together to create a “master list” of projects for Newfane to pursue. Ann presented a document with her top five issues for consideration and requested that the Commission review it. Commissioners further discussed priority tasks to be pursued. Commission agrees that Kate will put together a document summarizing the top priority tasks discussed. Commissioners agree to each send Kate their own list on priority tasks.
Commission agrees to hold a special meeting to review Kate’s work at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Ken agrees to inform Nolan of the special meeting.
Broadband Update, Deerfield Valley Communications Union District:
Jane gave report on recent work with the Deerfield Valley Communications Union District board.
Zoning Bylaw for Short Term Rentals – legislative update:
No new news from the legislature.
Development Review Board (DRB) Report:
Lynn gave an update on recent/upcoming Newfane Development Review Board work. Walter Dadik gave report on recent/upcoming Newfane Development Review Board work. Walter brought up the need for the zoning bylaw text to be edited to include the natural burial ground amendment. Ken agrees look into editing the text of the Zoning Bylaw.
Hazard Mitigation – Windham Regional Comm. & Newfane, April 12 / 21 – reports: Commissioners gave their reports on attending the 4/12/21 & 4/21/21 hazard mitigation meetings.
Trainings – Attendance:
Commissioners reported on and discussed attendance at recent municipal board trainings. Commission discussed who will be attending the upcoming Southern Vermont Economy Summit. Lynn listed additional upcoming trainings/webinars.
Correspondence received from the Vermont Council on Rural Development.
A motion was made by Lynn and seconded by Jane to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously by voice vote and the meeting adjourned at 8:17pm.
