Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes: Tuesday July 24, 2018

COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: ​Angela Sanborn, Bob McCandless, Ken Estey, Marcia Hylan, Lynn Forrest @6:35P.M.

OTHERS PRESENT: ​No others present.

CALL TO ORDER: ​6:07 P.M.

ADDITIONS/AMENDMENTS:​ None

Angela S. made a motion to table the 6/26 and 7/10/18 Minutes until the next meeting.
Ken E. seconded. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.

OLD BUSINESS:
Review Town Plan Adoption/Approval: ​Had a short discussion about the adoption of
the Revised Town Plan that was adopted on July 16th, 2018.
Town Plan Drafts: ​Members’ chapter drafts are due August 14th.

NEW BUSINESS:
PC Meetings: ​There will not be q quorum for a meeting on August 28th as many members will be away. The PC Regular Meeting for August 28, 2018 will be cancelled.
Ken E. reminded the Committee that after September 7 he will not be in Vermont Mondays through Wednesday. Lynn will check out the possibility of using Skype.

Community Forums: ​The Commissioners decided to pair forum subjects: Energy with Housing, Flood Resiliency with Forest Blocks. Holding a morning forum from 10-12 A.M. and the afternoon 1-3 P.M. The Energy and Housing community forum will be held in early November, Flood Resiliency and Forest Blocks at the end of January.
Angela S. will check on the availability of the Union Hall and the Newbrook Fire House.
In the meantime members will review the Municipal Planning Module on public forums.

Traffic Calming: ​The Commission came up with a few dates to meet with the Traffic Calming Committee: August 2,3,13 and 15 as a last resort. It was decided to hold the meeting at the Williamsville Hall. Bob M. will contact Shannon to make sure the dates are available at the Hall and contact Jen Stanchfield, Annie Landenberger, and Charles Bergman.

CORRESPONDENCE: ​The PC received a letter from Rick Rickards regarding noise pollution. We read and discussed the letter. The Commission will forward the letter to the Selectboard and will research other towns’ policies that have noise ordinances.

Another letter from West River Valley Thrives’ Stephen Tavella, asking the PC to read WRVT’s literature in anticipation of our meeting with Stephen. Commissioners will read the material.

ADJOURN:​ Bob M. made a motion to adjourn at 7:55 P.M. Ken E. seconded. The motion to adjourn passed unanimously.
