The Crowell Gallery is located within the Moore Free Library

Jason Alden is an artist and teacher who has lived in Brattleboro for the last 10 years. He studied drawing and painting at Boston University and the guidance of David Aronson, a sculptor and painter of the Boston Expressionist school of the 40’s and 50’s. Jason has taught drawing and color theory for many years at River Gallery and has recently opened up The Drawing Studio, a small art school in Brattleboro dedicated to re-introducing drawing as a natural activity in our lives. He draws from nature and has developed ways of working that can encourage simplicity, directness and absorption in the activity. His paintings are attempts to bring together different dimensions of experience into pictures that hold abstract relationships and symbolic narrative with equal care. Please come by the Crowell Gallery to see the many drawings and paintings. You can read about The Drawing Studio and the classes that are offered at www.vermontdrawingstudio.com.
