ROAD FOREMAN & ROAD COMMISSIONER’S REPORT:

  1. The covered bridge deck has been removed, and the replacement lumber is on site. The crew got called away to finish an emergency job and should be back tomorrow with hopes to finish by the end of the week.
  2. No news from Beardsley about the updates to the fuel tanks.
  3. I had a meeting on Dover Road in Williamsville with some of the neighbors to measure the area for the speed tables and the signage. We are hoping to put them down while the covered bridge is closed this week.
  4. The survey for the Newfane Village sidewalk project is being carried out, and the engineers expect to start working on the plan in the next month.

Cleverly made a motion to accept the Road Foreman & Road Commissioner’s Report. Dowling seconded. Motion passed.

Discussion:

Wilson discussed with VTrans the possibility of slightly widening the bridge using existing abutments, noting that even a small increase would help. The Depot Road project bid is ready to go out. There was also discussion about handling Knotweed, including hiring a contractor, mowing it down, or possibly using other methods, as spraying may not be as effective in this situation.

  4. We have sent a letter to Cindy Levine to accept her appointment to be on the Williamsville Hall Committee
