The Town of Newfane’s 2026 property tax bills will be delayed this year because the Town is awaiting the final education tax rates from the State of Vermont.

The Town currently anticipates mailing tax bills on or about July 21, 2026.

Under 32 V.S.A. § 4792, tax bills must be mailed at least thirty (30) days before the payment due date. If tax bills are not mailed at least 30 days before the date originally established for payment, Vermont law provides that the payment due date becomes 30 days from the date the tax bills are mailed.

Accordingly, the first installment of your 2026 property taxes will be due 30 days from the mailing date shown on your tax bill.
